Travelodge unveils £100 million expansion

18 Apr 2011 by AndrewGough
Budget hotel chain Travelodge has announced plans to open 36 new properties by 2015 in partnership with five UK pub companies. Travelodge said negotiations worth £100 million were underway with Greene King, JW Lees, Marston’s, Mitchells & Butlers and JD Wetherspoons. The sites are expected to be announced in the coming months. A spokesperson for Travelodge said many of the sites would be located in city centres. Travelodge is already “co-located” with pub companies in 15 cities across the UK including Hereford, Crewe and Chester. The £100 million plan aims to take advantage of the UK’s “recent upsurge in activity from the pub sector”, Travelodge said. For more information visit travelodge.co.uk.
