Budget hotel chain Travelodge has announced plans to open 36 new properties by 2015 in partnership with five UK pub companies.
Travelodge said negotiations worth £100 million were underway with Greene King, JW Lees, Marston’s, Mitchells & Butlers and JD Wetherspoons. The sites are expected to be announced in the coming months.
A spokesperson for Travelodge said many of the sites would be located in city centres. Travelodge is already “co-located” with pub companies in 15 cities across the UK including Hereford, Crewe and Chester.
The £100 million plan aims to take advantage of the UK’s “recent upsurge in activity from the pub sector”, Travelodge said.
