Budget hotel chain Travelodge has opened a 116-room property in the coastal city of Valencia, with a second Barcelona hotel under development and due to open in 2013.
The Valencia Travelodge is located around five minutes’ drive from the city’s airport, features a 24-hour bar / café, and offers lead-in rates of €20 per night.
Meanwhile construction has started on the 250-room, ten-storey Barcelona Rambla Poble Nou Travelodge, located in the city’s business district. The group’s CEO Guy Parsons said that Travelodge expects to begin construction of a further two hotels in Spain within the next six months.
The new Valencia property adds to Travelodge’s existing presence in Spain, which currently consists of two hotels in Madrid, and a 83-room property in Barcelona’s Hopitalet district.
