Airlines and hotels are joining in this weekend’s Royal Wedding festivities by offering extras including in-flight street parties, commemorative coffee cups and William and Kate bedspreads.

Virgin Atlantic will be hosting onboard street parties on its flights departing the UK for the US or the Caribbean on April 29. Passengers will receive an afternoon tea of wedding cake and traditional English breakfast tea served in a souvenir union jack lunch box, with wedding favours also available at the bars in Upper Class. Cabins will be decorated in union jack bunting and staff will have the option of dressing up in royal themed fancy dress.

Bmi is giving away 100 “Royal rewards” for passengers flying on selected routes before May 2. The prize consists of a £35 duty free voucher and is applicable on routes from Heathrow to Moscow, Freetown, Marrakech, Casablanca, Baku, Tbilisi, Yerevan, Tehran, Beirut, Almaty, Bishkek, Addis Ababa, Khartoum, Jeddah, Riyadh, Damman, Amman, Damascus and Cairo.

Premier Inn is giving selected guests staying at its London properties the chance to sleep under a bedspread printed with the images from the neck down of William and Kate, meaning couples can “line their head with the printed bodies and then they can be the future King and Queen for the night”.

Easyjet has flown 20 Kate and William look-a-likes from around Europe to London, for the finals of a competition which saw Simon Watkinson from London and Orsola Rossi from Milan receive free Easyjet flights for a year. Entrants were judged on resemblance, curtseying, throwing of bouquets, and proposal speeches.

Virgin Trains will be celebrating the Royal Wedding by selling beverages in commemorative cups from its onboard shops on Friday.

Travelodge is giving away free honeymoon packages over the royal wedding weekend to couples called “William and Kate”. Qualifying individuals should register at williamandkateoffer@travelodge.co.uk, and be prepared to send proof of their names and marriage.

Heathrow airport is giving passengers the Royal treatment by laying half a kilometre of red carpet in its Arrivals Halls, and giving out complimentary cups of White Earl Grey Twining’s tea, a commemorative blend specially created for the occasion. Travellers can also leave comments in wedding message books available in each terminal.
