The big picture: Radisson unveils world's tallest wine tower

5 Feb 2009 by Mark Caswell

Rezidor has unveiled a 16-metre high wine tower at its Radisson Blu Hotel, Zurich Airport, complete with flying “Wine Angels”  able to retrieve any of the tower’s 4,000 bottles.

Costing around four million Swiss Francs to build, the 27.5-ton tower is only the third of its kind in the world, and the second to appear in a Radisson property, following the established wine tower at the Radisson SAS Stansted Airport.

Wine angels are on hand to acrobatically retrieve customers’ choice every day between 11:45am and 1:30pm, and from 5:15pm and 11:30pm, as well as performing acrobatic shows at regular intervals.
