Thai Airways will add an A380 to its daily service between Bangkok and London Heathrow later this year.

From December 1, the superjumbo will operate under flight code TG911 when it leaves London each day at 1150 and arrives in Bangkok at 0610 the next morning.

The return flight, TG910, leaves Bangkok at 0110 and arrives at LHR at 0715.

An A346 will operate on Thai Airways' second daily flight - the TG917 departing London at 2135 and the TG 916 departing Bangkok at 1250.

The standard cabin layout offered by the Airbus A380 allows between 525 and 853 passengers - Thai has deliberately kept the number of seats to 507 passengers to maximise space and comfort.

The seats are arranged in three classes - 12 in Royal first class, 60 in Royal Silk business class, and 435 in economy.

Does this mean they will no longer offer the A380 on the HKG-BKK route or will that still work within the timing ?

Good to see Thai up their game also.
Has been too long for an Airline to be switching around the Aircraft on such a main and prestigious route into LHR.
Means quite a few of the Asian Carriers now compete with the A380 services to some of the main SE Asia Hubs, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok.

Thai air is NOT adding the A380 to the LHR to BKK flight (TG911). My wife and I have Thai Silk tickets in March 2014 and when we purchased the tickets was told it would be the A380, but now have been told it will be a 747-400 version 2. I was looking forward to the new A380 (and the new seating), but at least this flight has been upgraded.

Yes, that's right - there's lot of subsequent stories on this topic such as

My wife and I are scheduled to fly business class on flight TG911. However, Thai Air has changed from the Air 380-800 to the 747. We are not happy about the change, but at least it is an up dated plane.
