Cool-er

Cool-erThe new e-reader, Cool-er, can hold up to 800 ebooks and is compatible with both Macs and PCs, supporting 19 different types of document format including epub, pdf and mp3 for audio books. It comes from young British company Interead, which says the Cool-er was designed by readers, for readers. Available in eight colours, it can be read in direct sunlight and won’t overheat.

Samsung Galaxy i7500

Samsung i7500This is Samsung’s first device powered by the mobile device software Android, so you can download a number of applications, such as Shop Sa

It comes with an 3.2-inch Amoled (active matrix organic light emitting diode) screen, for fluid video viewing. You can also use Google Maps with an integrated GPS receiver, to guide you in the car or on foot. The i7500 measures 115 x 56 x 11.9mm.

Price Available exclusively with an O2 contract until the end of September, free on a £45 per month tariff.

Econav 435

Econav 435The Econav 435, as the name suggests, is a satnav that saves you time, money and emissions. Launched by GPS innovator Vexia, it claims to save up to £400 a year on fuel and 30 per cent on carbon emissions. To use, input the car type as well as how many people are in the vehicle, and the Econav 435 will send drivers on the most economic route, advise on which gear to use and measure driving efficiency.

VNB100 and VNB101

VNB100ViewSonic has launched two new Netbooks – the entry level VNB100 and the high-end VNB101. The portable PCs feature 10-inch LCD screens. The VNB100 has a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, 1GB memory, 160GB hard drive and uses Microsoft Windows XP Home. It also has integrated wifi . In addition to these features of the VNB100, the VNB101 has a slim 25mm design and weighs 1.1kg. It uses an Intel Atom N280 processor and can start-up in eight seconds.

The home screen can be fully personalized with favorite shortcuts, widgets and applications. It also has a five-megapixel camera. Available from October.
