ViewSonic HD Media Players

ViewSonic has launched two new palm-sized media players – the MovieBook VPD500 and VPD400. Weighing around 134g (VPD400), the MovieBooks feature 5- or 4.3-inch TFT-LCD displays, 800x480 LCD panels, 8GB of built-in memory and a micro SD card slot. Combined with a 1900mAh (VPD500) large capacity battery, the devices can play up to 4 hours of video or 15 hours of music (display off) with one charge. ViewSonic’s MovieBook devices support popular video and music formats, including RMVB, MP3, and WAV.

HTC Tattoo

HTC Corporation has launched the HTC Tattoo, an Android-based mobile phone that can integrate voice calls, emails, texts, photos and status updates. Available from early October, HTC Tattoo offers Google’s mobile services including Google Maps, Search, Google Mail and Android market, where other applications and games can be downloaded. Hardware features include a 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera, 3.5mm stereo headset jack and expandable micro SD memory. A nice twist is that users can design their own covers for the phone – purple stars anyone?
