Steigenberger Hotel Group has opened its first property in Dubai and the first of three hotels planned for the GCC.
The Steigenberger Hotel Business Bay Dubai features 365 rooms, an outdoor swimming pool and spa bath, a 19th floor executive lounge, and a dedicated meetings and events floor with a ballroom accommodating up to 450 people.
Current food and beverage options include Das Café, the Bayside Restaurant and Terrace, and the poolside Swim and Tonic.
These will be joined by dine-in and takeaway bakery Brothaus, and Paulaner Biergarten restaurant, offering traditional German food, freshly home-brewed Paulaner Beer and live entertainment.
The German hotel group has two further properties under development in the region – the Steigenberger Hotel Doha Airport Road, and a second Dubai hotel under its mid-market InterCityHotel brand.
According to the group’s website it will open new properties in Qingdao, Cairo, Istanbul, Stuttgart, Braunschweig and Sharm el-Sheikh this year.
Last year it was reported that Steigenberger will open its first hotel in London, housed within a building formerly home to Scotland Yard (see news July 29, 2015). However the property does not currently feature in the group’s list of upcoming locations here.
