Starwood’s Luxury Collection “to restore iconic heritage hotels in Europe”

Starwood is investing a total of US$200 million restoring several iconic Luxury Collection hotels in Europe, along with the owners of the properties. The group has already completed works on Seville’s Hotel Alfonso XIII and Hotel Maria Cristina in San Sebastian, and next year will open the restored Gritti Palace in Venice, and the Prince de Galles in Paris. The interiors of the renovated Hotel Alfonso XIII were designed by The Gallery at HBA London, while Hotel Maria Cristina was restored in time for its 100th anniversary, with rooms also designed by The Gallery. The Gritti Palace will reopen on January 31 following a 15-month restoration project, and will feature the new Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo Spa, while the Prince de Galles will be unveiled in the second quarter of next year, having been redesigned by renowned French architect and interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon. The Luxury Collection now counts over 80 properties across 30 countries within its portfolio, including The Turnberry Resort in Scotland and The Chatwal in New York.
