Starwood will open its first two hotels in the Turkish city of Bursa later this year, it has been announced.

The Sheraton Bursa Hotel and Aloft Bursa Hotel are both located in a residential area next to the Bursa New Cultural Green Park and upcoming football stadium.

The 171-room Sheraton Bursa has ten suites, a spa with six treatment rooms, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a gym and two restaurants.

On the top floor of the hotel is the exclusive Sheraton Club Lounge (pictured above) and an executive board room, both offering spectacular city views from a 14th storey vantage.

The Aloft Bursa has 133 rooms, a gym, swimming pool, three meeting rooms and a deli.

Michael Wale, president of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Europe, Africa and Middle East, said: "Bursa is an emerging metropolitan centre of industry, culture, sport and leisure and we believe this combination of our differentiated lifestyle brands with a new city destination will make a compelling offer to global travellers."

Both hotels are owned by Faik Celik Holding and bring the number of Turkey properties in Starwood's portfolio to nine.

Starwood aims to have opened its 500th hotel by 2015.
