Scoot reveals class categories

9 Mar 2012 by ScottCarey7

Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, has revealed its seat specifications and four travel classes ahead of its expected launch around June this year.

Scoot will operate B777 aircraft in two classes with economy in a 3-4-3 configuration with a seat pitch of 31” and width of 17” and a business class product, called ScootBiz, which will feature a cabin of 32 seats in a 2-4-2 configuration at the front of the aircraft, with a seat pitch of 38”, width of 22” and an 8” recline.

In economy there are three fare options: Fly, FlyBag and FlyBagEat, each providing exactly what they say. Fly is bare bones travel comprising a seat and nothing more. Seat selection, food, baggage and in-seat power and wifi can all be purchased for an additional fee. FlyBag includes a 15kg baggage allowance with extra weight and allowances such as sporting equipment available for an additional fee and FlyBagEat includes one meal.

ScootBiz offers a more bundled fare which includes the larger seats at the front of the aircraft as well as: preferred seat selection, priority boarding, up to two meals with beverages, 20kg checked baggage allowance, two items of carry-on luggage, a comfort kit, in-seat power and fast-track check in at a dedicated desk.

Scoot will operate out of Singapore’s Changi airport starting with routes to Sydney and the Gold Coast. Tickets are not yet available for booking so we cannot provide any information about fares at this time.
