SAS to switch Bergen flights from London to Manchester

17 Oct 2011 by BusinessTraveller

SAS will cease flying between London Gatwick and Bergen next month, but will add a new route from Manchester to the Norwegian city from January.

The carrier currently flies four-times weekly from London Gatwick to Bergen, but will cease operations on November 1. A new twice-weekly route from Manchester will then commence on January 6, 2012.

Flight SK4606 will depart Manchester at 2035 on Monday and Friday, arriving in Bergen at 2315, with the Manchester-bound leg leaving the Norwegian city at 1900 and landing in the UK at 1945.

There are currently no direct scheduled flights between Manchester and Bergen. SAS’ decision to drop its flights from London will leave just Norwegian Air Shuttle serving the Gatwick-Bergen route. Bmi also flies from London Heathrow to the Norway’s second largest city.
