The Rezidor Hotel Group has unveiled its first property in Georgia, a 249-room hotel in the capital Tbilisi.
The Radisson SAS Iveria Hotel, Tbilisi is located in a renovated 1970s tower block on Rose Revolution Square, around 25 minutes from the city’s international airport. The hotel takes its names from the five-star Iveria Hotel which had occupied the building until the 1990s, when refugees were housed there after the Abkhazia war.
Features include two restaurants – Surface, serving international cuisine, and the Italian eatery Filini, which offers al fresco dining. There is a wellness and fitness centre spread over the top two floors, including an indoor pool and Anne Semonin Spa, and for meetings there is a total of 826sqm of events space, including the Iveria Ballroom with a capacity for 450 delegates.
The building has been given an extensive makeover by New York based architect Stephan Frantzen, using materials such as reflective glass cladding and copper.
