Radisson Edwardian to open in Guildford

8 Apr 2011 by BusinessTraveller

Four-star brand Radisson Edwardian is to open a 185-room new-build hotel in Guildford this September, with features including a swimming pool and a restaurant collaboration with a “celebrity chef”.

The £60 million development will be located on Guildford High Street “on the site of the historic White Horse Hotel”, and will feature two restaurants – a standalone Pan-Asian style eatery with direct access from the street, and second collaboration with a “celebrity chef” offering grazing style dishes.

There will also be a terrace at the front of the hotel for coffee and casual dining, and a bar with seating for 120 guests, offering cocktails and a sharing menu including salt chilli squid and crispy pork belly.

Other facilities include a spa with swimming pool, gym, five treatment rooms, a relaxation area, sauna, steam room and “mud spa”, and conference facilities accommodating between 10 and 400 delegates.

The hotel will join the group’s portfolio of 12 hotels in London (including the independently branded May Fair Hotel), along with the Radisson Edwardian Manchester Free Trade Hall.

Radisson Edwardian is a privately owned hotel group, but partners with Radisson Hotels, a subsidiary of Carlson Hotels, and offers its guests membership of the Club Carlson loyalty scheme (see Business Traveller online news February 15).
