Carlson has opened its first Radisson Blu-branded hotel in the United States, a 334-room property located within the Aqua tower in Chicago.
The Radisson Blu brand will be familiar to business travellers visiting destinations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, where it is managed by Rezidor Hotel Group, under a master franchise agreement with Carlson.
In the US Carlson operates the similarly-named Radisson Hotels brand, but this is the first time the Radisson Blu offering has appeared in the country.
The Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel Chicago is housed within the 86-storey Aqua tower in downtown Chicago, with its distinctive undulating exterior.
Features include 334 rooms and suites, Italian restaurant Felini, 28,000 square feet of meeting and events space, fitness facilities including an indoor basketball court and indoor pool, and an 80,000square foot “green roof and recreation deck”, with gardens, two outdoor pools, a hot tub and a running trail measuring one-fifth of a mile.
