Radisson Blu doubles-up in Hamburg

Rezidor Hotel Group has strengthened its portfolio in Hamburg after completing work on the Radisson Blu Hamburg and the new Radisson Blu Hotel, Hamburg Airport.
Renovations to the Radisson Blu Hamburg began in August last year (see online news August 31 2008). After 14 months and a €48 million investment, the hotel now has a “modernised” lobby, fitness suite and “wellbeing zone”, plus a conference area with two new event spaces and enhanced meetings facilities.
Swedish architect Christian Lundwall was brought in to redesign all 556 guestrooms and suites according to three styles – Natural, Urban and New York Mansion for the more expensive rooms.
The Radisson Blu Hotel, Hamburg Airport, Rezidor’s latest property in the city, is located directly opposite Terminals 1 and 2 and is joined to the departure and arrivals lounge by a walkway.
The airport hotel’s 266 rooms have also been designed by Christian Lundwall, this time in Urban and Ocean styles and each with free high-speed internet access. The hotel has 15 “flexible” meeting rooms with the largest able to accommodate 300 delegates.
