Qantas to launch chauffeur drive service in April

Qantas is to launch its new complimentary chauffeur drive service for premium passengers this spring, as part of the airline’s tie-up with Emirates.
From April business and first class customers travelling on Qantas’s route from London to Australia via Dubai will be offered a chauffeur car at both ends of the journey.
The benefit will then be extended to Qantas flights over 12 hours in length (ie: from Australia to Los Angeles, Dallas, New York, Santiago and Johannesburg) from July.
The move is part of the global partnership between Qantas and Emirates which was announced last year (see online news September 6, 2012), and which has resulted in BA and Qantas ending their long-standing Joint Services Agreement from this March.
Emirates already offers chauffeur drive services to its business and first class customers when travelling to or from over 55 cities on its network.
BA trialled a complimentary black cab service for business and first class customers travelling from Heathrow T5 back in 2009 (click here for more details), while Virgin Atlantic offers it full fare Upper Class customers chauffeur driven cars at both ends of their journey.
