Qantas to increase A380 London service

16 Feb 2009 by Mark Caswell

Qantas will increase the number of London-Sydney flights using the A380 to five per week from June 7, following the delivery of its fourth superjumbo in May.

The Australian carrier will roster the A380 aircraft to its QF31 flights (London-Sydney via Singapore) on Thursdays and Sundays, adding to the Tuesday, Friday and Saturday services. The return leg QF32 will be served with the superjumbo on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Qantas will also increase its A380 service on the Sydney-Los Angeles route from five to six per week from June 9. The airline says it has carried “around 50,000” passengers on its A380 aircraft since taking delivery of the superjumbo last October, and expects to take delivery of four A380s this year, taking its fleet to seven.
