Premier Inn opens Leicester Square property

Budget hotel chain Premier Inn has opened its latest London property, an 83-room hotel located just off Leicester Square.
The Premier Inn London Leicester Square is located behind the Empire cinema, with its entrance on Leicester Place.
The hotel group says that the property has been designed with “floating rooms”, providing double soundproofing to shield against noise from the bars and restaurants on the square.
All rooms feature an ensuite bathroom, king size bed, TV with Freeview channels, tea and coffee making facilities, and a desk with 30 minutes free wifi.
The hotel is the latest in a raft of properties to open in or around Leicester Square. W London debuted on Valentine’s day last year (for a review click here), and opposite the Starwood property the boutique St John Hotel also opened last year (see online news April 14, 2011).
Meanwhile the Odeon West End on Leicester Square is set to be redeveloped into a mixed use hotel, cinema, residential and restaurant complex, following its purchase by Jasminder Singh, chairman and CEO of the Edwardian Group (see online news January 31).
Leicester Square has recently undergone a £15 million makeover, set to be unveiled this week.
