Premier Inn offers one-minute check-in

19 Jan 2009 by Sara Turner

Premier InnBudget hotel chain Premier Inn has opened its first fully self check-in hotel, using dedicated self-service pods. The new technology may be rolled out across the UK.

Premier Inn says the current check-in process at its hotels takes an average of 10 minutes, but the new technology will cut this time down significantly. The recently opened Sheffield City Centre (St Mary’s Gate) Premier Inn claims reduced check-in times of under one minute, thanks to the self check-in facilities.

Sarah Simpson, product and service manager for Premier Inn said: “Feedback has shown that business travellers like the time saving benefits that the kiosks provide.” Simpson added that Premier Inn staff will still be on hand to help guests with their needs.

The new hotel has 126 bedrooms, with satellite TV, broadband internet and telephone/modem points. Wifi access and meeting rooms are also available at the hotel.
