Park Inn to open London Excel property

18 Jan 2011 by BusinessTraveller

Rezidor’s Park Inn brand is to add a 223-room property close to London’s Excel Exhibition Centre, with an opening date of the third quarter of 2013.

The 20-storey hotel will be located 200 metres west of the main entrance to the complex, and will feature a restaurant, bar, fitness room, and four meeting rooms with a total of 450sqm of function space.

The majority of the property’s 223 guest rooms will offer “uninterrupted views of the River Thames”.

There are currently five hotel advertised as being “onsite” at Excel – Crowne Plaza, Ibis, Novotel, Premier Inn and Ramada (click here for more details). Starwood announced last year that it will open a 252-room Aloft hotel attached to the complex in 2012 (see online news June 8, 2010). Excel completed phase 2 of its expansion programme last year, including the addition of a 5,000-seater auditorium.

The Park Inn Excel will be the fourth property by the brand within the M25, joining the Park Inn Heathrow, the Park Inn Hotel, Russell Square, and the Park Inn Watford. Rezidor also recently announced new UK properties in Newcastle (Radisson Blu) and Bournemouth (Park Inn) – see online news December 10, 2010 for more information.
