Oneworld members with Emerald or Sapphire status will from tomorrow be able to fast track through security on any flight departing Heathrow operated by British Airways, American Airlines or Iberia.
The service will be available from all three LHR terminals - 1, 3 and 5 - used by the three carriers and only applies to those Emerald or Sapphire cardholders in a frequent flyer programme.
Both groups of cardholders already have access to fast track through immigration when arriving on flights operated by BA at Heathrow.
And Emerald frequent flyers already had access to fast track through security when departing from LHR Terminal 3 on Cathay Pacific.
Since February, Emerald status members have been entitled to an extra checked luggage allowance when travelling on any Oneworld airline, above the standard limit for the cabin class they are travelling in (see online news, January 31).
In June, it was announced that Qatar Airways will join the Oneworld alliance in October (see online news, June 21).
