The Mira Hotel Collection, made up of the Mira Hong Kong and Mira Moon hotels, has announced the launch of a new gadget for their guests, the “Wifi Buddy.”
The portable router will allow guests of the Mira Hotel Collection to stay connected to the internet on their own device whilst out and about in Hong Kong, without racking up roaming fees. They are currently available in all 492 rooms at The Mira Hong Kong and will be available at the Mira Moon by March 2016.
The devices will provide 4G network speed for up to ten devices, such as phones, laptops and tablets.
Kenneth Sorensen, head of hotels and serviced apartments, said: “Nowadays every traveller carries at least one private device that has all the contacts, personalized setup, preferred apps...loaded and configured.
“Guests staying in our hotels no longer need to go through the learning curve of getting familiar with a third-party smartphone provided by the hotel, which was the case until now.”
The move comes after Hong Kong’s Hotel Icon equipped each room with a free smartphone earlier this month.
