Melia Hotels International is to open a 369-room hotel in the La Defense district of Paris in 2014.
Melia Defense will be housed within a 20-storey new-build property adjacent to the Esplanade de la Defense metro station.
Few details have been released about the new hotel, but Melia says it will feature views of the Arc de Triomphe, and will provide “all the attributes and services expected of Meliá Hotels & Resorts”.
Melia currently operates seven properties in the French capital, under its Tryp and Melia Hotels and Resorts brands.
In the UK Melia is set to open Me London in June, located at the corner of the Strand and Aldwych (see online news November 30, 2011), and the group has also announced plans for an Innside by Melia property in Manchester (see online news January 19).
