8 Oct 2013 by GrahamSmith

Melia Hotels International has announced it will open a Me brand property in Dubai in 2016.

Me by Melia Dubai will be housed in the forthcoming "Opus" building.

Designed by architect Zaha Hadid, it will stand at 95 metres tall and will be located in the city's Burj Khalifa district.

The 23,225 sqm hotel will contain 100 rooms, serviced apartments and Michelin-starred restaurants.

It is Hadid's first hotel project and its unique design will mean it stands out as a landmark on the Dubai skyline.

Gabriel Escarrer, CEO and vice chairman of Melia Hotels International, said: "We have been searching for the next city for the ME brand to locate in and found it in this remarkable project in Dubai. Zaha Hadid's masterpiece has exceeded our expectations."
