Marriott International has announced plans to open the Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel in Japan’s tallest building, the Abenobashi Terminal Tower Building Annex, in spring 2014.
The 376 guest rooms will be on floors 38 to 55 of the 60-story building. The hotel reception lounge is planned for the 19th floor, meeting space will be on the 20th floor, and a fine-dining restaurant on the 57th floor.
The property is about 30 minutes from Kansai International Airport and is also planned to house a department store, offices, galleries, museums and an observatory.
Marriott International is working with Miyako Hotels & Resorts’ management company, Kintetsu Hotels Systems, to open the new high-rise hotel in the tower, which is currently under construction.
