Lufthansa to launch Shenyang / Qingdao route
Published: 22/11/2011 - Filed under: News »
Lufthansa will resume flights from Frankfurt to the Chinese city of Shenyang next March, with the route also continuing on to Qingdao.
The German carrier has served the northeastern city of Shenyang previously, but this will be the first time Lufthansa has operated flights to Qingdao, located south of Shenyang.
The three times-weekly flights will commence on March 26, 2012, departing Frankfurt for Shenyang on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 2215, arriving at 1430 the following day, before continuing on to Qingdao at 1550, arriving at 1725.
The return leg will depart on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 2105, landing in Shenyang at 2245, before continuing on to Frankfurt at 0015 the following day, landing back in Germany at 0530. The route will be operated by A340 aircraft.
Last week Business Traveller reported that Lufthansa is likely to cancel its existing route from Frankfurt to Guangzhou in southern China, with the non-stop service removed from the carrier’s website reservations from March 23 next year (see online news November 14).
This flight is also being served by Airbus A340 aircraft, so it seems Lufthansa has made the decision to redeploy the aircraft to other Chinese destinations.
