Lufthansa is to launch flights from London to Milan Malpensa next year, as well as routes from the Italian city to Lisbon, Barcelona, Brussels, Budapest, Bucharest and Paris.
The flights will be operated by Lufthansa’s subsidiary Air Dolomiti using A319 aircraft. The routes to London and Lisbon will commence in summer 2009, with the other destinations starting in February next year.
A spokesperson for Lufthansa said the preference would be to use Heathrow for the new flights to London, although the slot allocation has yet to be finalised. Flights will carry a LH code, with the livery for the A319 aircraft to be unveiled in the next few weeks.
Air Dolomiti currently serves routes from Frankfurt to Verona and Turin, as well as Munich to Milan, Verona, Trieste, Turin, Venice, Bologna, Genoa, Pisa, Florence and Ancona.
The new flights will go on sale in mid-October – for more information visit lufthansa.com.
