Lufthansa increases Edinburgh services
Published: 09/03/2010 - Filed under: News »
German carrier Lufthansa is to boost its routes from Edinburgh this summer, with a new service to Dusseldorf and a second daily flight to Frankfurt.
The six-times weekly, two-class service between Edinburgh and Dusseldorf will commence on April 26, and will operate daily except Saturday (Lufthansa will offer a Saturday service between Inverness and Dusseldorf between June 5 and September 11).
The carrier will also reintroduce a teatime flight from Edinburgh to Frankfurt am Main, adding to its existing lunchtime service. The only other carrier flying between Edinburgh and Frankfurt is Ryanair, although it operates into Frankfurt-Hahn airport, some 75 miles from the city.
Lufthansa says that flights from Edinburgh to Dusseldorf will be available from £49 one-way in economy.
