London City airport has released an infographic detailing the top ten worst habits of ‘plane strangers’.
The airport surveyed travellers to discover the habits they found most irritating of other passengers, with 63 per cent opting for those who recline their seats too far back.
In second place was passengers who hog the seat armrests, followed by customers being rude to cabin crew.
Passengers travelling with oversized carry-on luggage was next on the list, followed by talking loudly, rushing off the plane to be first in the passport queue, and constantly getting up to use the overhead lockers.
In eighth place was passengers who put their feet in the gaps between the seats in front of them, ninth place was reserved for swearing travellers, and finally tenth spot went to passengers hogging the window view.
Commenting on the findings a spokesperson said:
“On an aeroplane we get closer to strangers than we would in almost any other setting, so it’s no wonder little things can irritate us. Be considerate of your fellow passengers - you wouldn’t lean against a stranger on a park bench while you ate your lunch, so think about how much space you really need before reclining your seat.”
