Leela opens first hotel in northern India

Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts has unveiled its latest property in India, a 322-room hotel in Gurgaon close to New Delhi.

The Leela Kempinski Gurgaon, Delhi is located to the southwest of India’s capital, and around 10 miles from Indira Ghandi International Airport.

The hotel features 322 guestrooms and suites, plus 90 one, two and three-bedroom residences, and is the first managed property by the Leela group. Rooms include wifi internet access, IP phones, LCD TVs, iPod docking stations, electronis safes and “ergonomic matresses”. There is a Royal Club floor providing access to a private lounge.

Dining options include live-kitchen concept Spectra, Indian eatery Diva, and Italian restaurant Zanotta. The hotel’s leisure facilities feature a heated swimming pool, fitness centre, yoga and aerobics studio, beauty salon, and a 1,900-sqm spa. For meetings there is a business centre and 2,500sqm of function space.

Gurgaon has become one of the wealthiest areas of the metropolis of Delhi in recent years, with the emergence of real estate, automobile, retail and bankings industries in the city.
