Langham Hotels International is to open a hotel at Beijing Capital airport on August 16, featuring loft-style apartments, “cutting edge design” and an art gallery showcasing contemporary Chinese artwork.

Langham Place, Beijing Capital Airport will be located next to the airport’s Sir Norman Foster-designed Terminal 3, and will feature 372 rooms and suites starting from 40sqm, with facilities including separate baths and walk-in showers, iPod docking stations, DVD / CD players and wifi internet access.

There will be a two-floor club lounge with features including all day snacks, a boardroom, internet pods and a pool table, while eating and drinking options include the Ming Court serving Chinese dishes and Fuel for “hot bands, DJs and big screens for sporting events”.

Langham is marketing the property as the first lifestyle airport hotel in Beijing, and say that its aim is to “revolutionize the way we see airport hotels”. Other facilities include 2,700sqm of meeting space, Life! boutique selling “a selection of quirky and cool local designer and Langham Place branded gifts”, the 24-hour Cardio Studio, and a complimentary airport shuttle bus service.
