Chilean carrier LAN has moved forward the delivery of its Boeing Dreamliner aircraft by three years, with the first aircraft now set to be handed over in 2011.

A member of the Oneworld alliance, LAN has ordered a total of 26 Boeing 787s, and has adjusted the delivery of ten of these from 2014 to 2011, which the carrier says will make it “the first airline in the western hemisphere to receive the Dreamliner”.

Japanese carrier ANA (a Star Alliance member) remains the launch customer for the Dreamliner, with the airline unveiling the livery for its 787 aircraft last year (see online news June 16, 2009). After a series of delays Boeing has started test flights for the aircraft, with the first delivery due in the fourth quarter of this year.
