Korean Air to launch Seoul-Gatwick route

6 Oct 2011 by BusinessTraveller

Korean Air is set to add a three-times weekly service to Gatwick airport next year, adding to existing flights to London Heathrow.

The carrier has yet to make an official announcement on its website, but respected sites airlineroute.net and flightglobal.com are both reporting that the new route will commence on March 27, 2012, using B777-200ER aircraft.

Flight KE909 will depart Seoul Incheon on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 1840, arriving into Gatwick at 2250, with the return leg KE910 departing Gatwick at 1030 on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, landing back into Seoul at 0525 the following day.

Korean Air already serves Heathrow daily, departing Seoul at 1315 and arriving in London at 1715, with the return leg leaving London at 1935 and arriving at 1425 the following day.

Having lost several long-haul services in the last few years, Gatwick has recently announced new routes to both Kuala Lumpur (see online news July 12) and the Vietnamese cities of Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi (see online news June 20).
