KLM to resume Rio services

KLM has joined the growing list of carriers either launching or increasing services to Rio de Janeiro, with three-times weekly flights starting on November 1.

The carrier last served the Brazilian city 12 years ago, but is resuming services ahead of Brazil’s hosting of the FIFA World Cup in 2014, and the 2016 Olympic games in Rio.

Flights will depart Amsterdam on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 1040, landing in Rio at 1930, with the return leg leaving at 2140 and landing back in Amsterdam at 1155 the following day.

The route will be served with B777-200ER aircraft, configured for 35 passengers in business class and 283 in economy.
