KLM increases Liverpool service
Published: 03/03/2010 - Filed under: News »
Dutch carrier KLM is to add a fourth daily flight from Liverpool John Lennon airport to Amsterdam Schiphol, and will tweak its existing schedules in order to “increase long-haul connectivity”.
KLM started thrice-daily flights from Liverpool just under a year ago (see online news November 3, 2008), and will now add a fourth service from May 10, at the same time as changing existing flight times. For the full timetable see below.
Commenting on the new schedules, Henri Hourcade, General Manager AIR FRANCE KLM UK and Ireland said:
“Our new summer schedule is great news for Liverpool and for KLM and is a tangible symbol of the strength of our operations out of Merseyside. Whether travelling for business or leisure, the new schedule means faster connectivity with KLM’s intercontinental route network, seamless integration with our European network and the convenience of being able to do a full day’s business in Amsterdam and be back home in time for dinner.
Flights are plied with Fokker 70 aircraft seating 80 passengers, and to celebrate the increased frequency KLM is offering return fares from £79 for flights booked between March 4-25, for travel until September 30.
Easyjet is the only other scheduled carrier flying between Liverpool and Amsterdam, with a thrice-daily service operated by A319 aircraft.
