Jumeirah announces Panama property

27 Nov 2009 by Mark Caswell

Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts is to open a luxury hotel within the Los Faros de Panama complex in the San Francisco district of Panama City.

Jumeirah Los Faros de Panama will feature 400 rooms and suites, a Talise Spa, “fitness and leisure amenities”, and 3,000sqm of meeting space.

The Los Faros de Panama project - translating as Panama’s Lighthouses - is being developed by a subsidiary of Grupo Mall, and will eventually comprise three skyscrapers, the highest of which will reach 361 metres (85 floors), which would make it the tallest residential building in Latin America.

Aside from the hotel and residential units the mixed-use development will include restaurants, retail outlets and a casino. The complex is located in the San Francisco district of the capital, around 15 minutes from Tocumen International Airport, and an area undergoing major redevelopment.
