Jet2 to launch Leeds Bradford-Berlin route

Low-cost carrier Jet2 is to launch the only direct scheduled service between Leeds Bradford airport and Berlin next summer.
The new route will operate three times-weekly from June 1, 2012, departing Leeds Bradford at 1630 on Tuesday, 1730 on Friday and 1815 on Sunday, returning from Berlin at 2000 on Tuesday, 2100 on Friday and 2145 on Sunday.
The route will commence just days before Berlin Schonefeld airport closes to make way for the new Berlin Brandenburg airport on June 3, 2012.
The closest airport to Leeds currently offering scheduled flights to Berlin is Manchester, with a five times-weekly service operated by Easyjet.
