Jet2 offers free baggage on Manchester-Tel Aviv route
Published: 15/10/2009 - Filed under: News »
UK-based low cost airline Jet2 is offering free checked luggage and security fast track on flights from Manchester to Tel Aviv.
From November 5 to March 11, passengers who fly return to Tel Aviv with Jet2 will be able to avoid the usual £29.98 per bag charge (£14.99 each way - up to 22kg).
Note that the check-in fee will still apply each way – which is £6 when one piece of luggage is checked-in at the airport or £3 when checked in online. The free checked luggage applies only to the lead passenger on a booking.
The Leeds-based carrier is also offering complimentary fast track security (for all passengers on the booking) which is normally only available as part of its £29.99 per leg Jet2plus priority package. The offer does not include free priority boarding, lounge access or in-flight meals.
Jet2 currently operates only one outward and return service a week between Manchester and Tel Aviv Ben Gurion International, gearing it more towards the leisure market. However from December 21 to January 10 the carrier will put on one extra flight per week on Mondays operating at the same time as the usual Thursday service.
Currently the B757-200 which serves the route departs Manchester at 0950 and arrives in Tel Aviv at 1555. The return service leaves Tel Aviv at 1655 and arrives back in the UK at 2140.
