Jet2 will commence four new routes from Newcastle to Bodrum, Rome, Reus and Venice next year, bringing the total number of routes served from the airport to 27.

The low-cost carrier will fly three times-weekly to Venice from May 31, twice-weekly to Rome from the same date, twice-weekly to Reus in Spain from June 1, and weekly to Bodrum from June 4.

Headquartered at Leeds Bradford airport, Jet2 says it has had a record year at Newcastle, carrying half a million passengers, a 56 per cent increase on 2010. Next summer the carrier will offer a total of 27 destinations from the airport.

There are currently no scheduled, non-stop flights between Newcastle and any of the new routes announced by Jet2.
