IHG’s Intercontinental brand is to open its first property in Venice, housed within a converted 16th century palace.
The Intercontinental Venice – Palazzo Nani is scheduled to open in 2018, and will feature 51 rooms, a wellness centre, meeting facilities and a club lounge.
Located on Cannaregio Canal, connecting the Grand Canal to the centre of Venice, the palace features hand painted alfresco ceilings and hand-carved wooden beams which will be restored.
Last month IHG announced its first property in Bulgaria, scheduled to open in 2017 and housed within the current Radisson Blu Grand Hotel Sofia (see news February 26).
