IHG to open Intercontinental San Diego

IHG has announced a new-build Intercontinental property for San Diego, scheduled to open in 2018. The 400-room Intercontinental San Diego will be located within the mixed use BRIC development in the North Embarcadero area the city, close to the historic Gaslamp Quarter. The hotel will be housed within an 18-storey building, which will feature a rooftop bar and pool overlooking the bay, an Intercontinental Club Lounge, fitness and spa facilities, a restaurant, and 23,000 square feet of meeting space. Intercontinental San Diego IHG currently operates properties in San Diego under its Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Crowne Plaza, Candlewood Suites, Hotel Indigo and Kimpton brands. The group recently announced plans for Intercontinental properties in Venice (see news March 4) and Bulgaria (see news February 26), and in January opened the InterContinental London - the O2 (see news January 26). ihg.com
