IHG launches Google Earth tool
Published: 12/10/2008 - Filed under: News »
Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) has launched travel planning from space. You can now download a tool which uses Google Earth technology to show where any of the more than 4,000 IHG branded hotels are located.
It means you can see the hotel in relation to the surrounding area. You can also check current weather conditions and pinpoint local places of interest. The tool even allows you to book a room in your chosen hotel.
Bryson Koehler, vice president, revenue and guest technology, IHG, commented on the new tool: “Using innovative technology to give guests the ability to see where they are going before they book will make their travels a little bit easier.”
The tool is self-updating and links directly to IHG’s reservations system. To download it go to earth.ihg.com.
