Icelandair is the latest carrier to announce new flights between London and Iceland, with a twice-weekly service from Gatwick complimenting its existing Heathrow flights.
The new service will launch on October 18, departing on Thursday and Sunday, operated by B757-200 aircraft configured for three classes.
Icelandair currently offers a daily service between London Heathrow and Reykjavik. Rival carrier Iceland Express flies from Gatwick, and is also set to restart services from Stansted in June (see online news March 2).
Meanwhile start-up carrier Wow Air is also scheduled to launch flights from Stansted in June (see online news November 28, 2011), and Easyjet will fly from Luton from March 27 (see online news November 9, 2011).
