Budget carrier Iceland Express will move its Stansted-Reykavik flights to Gatwick from May 1 next year.
The carrier will operate an eight-times weekly service, with flights starting from £69 each way.
“We have decided to launch this exciting new service in May as it is the peak travel season for Iceland,” said Matthias Imsland, Iceland Express CEO. “The number of bookings for Iceland Express is higher than ever before and we are confident this will continue with our Gatwick route. We are looking forward to this new chapter in our story.”
Rival Icelandair currently flies twice-daily from London heathrow to the Icelandic capital.
