Hyatt to open Regency hotel in Amsterdam

24 May 2013 by GrahamSmith

Hyatt is to open its first Regency hotel in Amsterdam in 2015.

The Hyatt Regency Amsterdam will have 211 rooms, including 15 suites, a meeting and ballroom space, a restaurant, a bar and lounge, a fitness centre and a spa.

Peter Norman, senior vice president, real estate and development for Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, said: "The Hyatt Regency brand is a great fit for Amsterdam, which is one of Europe's most important commercial centers and the continent's sixth largest metropolitan area, drawing visitors for both business and leisure."

Although the first Regency hotel in Amsterdam, Hyatt already owns the nearby Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht and Hyatt Place Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.

At the end of last year, Hyatt announced plans for a Regency property in Thailand's capital, to open in 2017 alongside the existing Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok (see online news, November 2012).
