Hyatt is to open its first property in the Malaysian capital, a 412-room Grand Hyatt hotel on Jalan Pinang Road close to the Petronas Twin Towers.

The Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is scheduled to open in 2012, and will form part of a mixed use complex in the Golden Triangle district of the city, with the hotel occupying floors 17 to 39 of the property.

Features will include 42 suites, 33,000 square feet of events space, a speciality restaurant offering “multiple cuisines”, a swimming pool with restaurant and bar, and a spa with 11 treatment rooms.

The hotel will be the first Hyatt branded property in Kuala Lumpur, although the group has existing properties in the Malaysian resort destinations of Kota Kinabalu and Kuantan.
