Hyatt has opened its latest New York property, a boutique hotel located on Lexington Avenue and 48th Street in midtown Manhattan.
Hyatt 48 Lex features 116 studios and suites designed by Nobutaka Ashihara, with original artwork, woven carpets, tables made by a woodworker in Brooklyn, 37-inch flatscreen TVs, iPod docking stations, and a “butler’s pantry” (extended minibar).
Lexicon Lounge on the second floor overlooking one of the hotel’s green roofs, and offers complimentary snacks and drinks throughout the day, as well as hosted wine and cheese evenings, and iPads available to borrow.
The hotel’s restaurant Lexington Brass features American diner fare, with dishes including jam-filled pancakes with berries and lemon cream, sirloin steak sandwich with truffle fries, grilled shrimp & couscous, and sweet corn ravioli with chanterelles.
There are four executive boardrooms for meetings of between eight and 12 people, as well as an adjacent business workstation, a 24-hour fitness studio, and an in-suite spa programme is also available.
Two penthouse suites with terraces will be unveiled later this year. Rates at the Hyatt 48 Lex start from US£499.
