Despite the downturn the hotels keep opening. Latest to join the huge meeting and conference hotels of Macau is the Grand Hyatt Macau.

The 791-room hotel has around 90,000sqm of event space in 15 separate areas including the 2,500-capacity Grand Ballroom and the 700sqm Salão do Teatro ballroom.

Free transfers are available to guests travelling to and from Macau’s major transport terminals, including Macau International Airport and ferry terminals.

Hyatt also hopes to drum up interest in its MICE facilities by offering the alfresco Pool Deck thought to be the largest outdoor venue in Macau with with a water lounge, VIP cabanas and gardens.

The 791 guestrooms and suites are spread across the hotel’s Grand Tower and Grand Club Tower with 424 and 367 respectively, and each comes with laptop connections and two 40in LCD TVs.

The hotel has two main restaurants – the 225-seat Beijing Kitchen, open 24 hours a day with indoor and outdoor areas, and mezza9 Macau which is based on the Grand Hyatt Singapore’s eatery.

The Grand Hyatt Macau is a five-minute drive from Macau International Airport and an eight-minute drive from the city’s ferry terminal.

Hyatt has opened five hotels in China in the past 12 months, the most recent being the Hyatt Regency Hong Kong Tsim Sha Tsui which opened earlier this month.
