Hyatt announces Abu Dhabi debut

4 Oct 2008 by Mark Caswell

Hyatt Hotels and Resorts has announced it will open its first Park Hyatt property in Abu Dhabi in 2010.

The hotel and villas complex will be the third Park Hyatt in the Middle East, with the Park Hyatt Dubai already open, and a Jeddah property soon to open its doors.

The Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi will be located in the city’s Cultural District on the northern part of Saadiyat Island, surrounded by an 18-hole golf course, and 5.5 miles of coastline to the front.

Once completed the resort will feature 270 guestrooms (with a minimum size of 55 sqm), 44 villas, several restaurants, and conference and events facilities.

Saadiyat Island is located 500m off the coast of Abu Dhabi, and there are plans to develop the island into a cultural centre. Among the projects already announced include Abu Dhabi versions of the Guggenheim and Louvre museums.
